The Whitcomb was painted by Jeff and Jim. I painted the inside of the cab 3 years ago and it needs freshened up.
Commentary about volunteering to overhaul the 200 hp LeRoi engine in a Whitcomb switch locomotive for a non profit museum. I got it running in 2009. TitanX Donated a new radiator core in 2011. Plymouth locomotive arrives 2014.

Summer 2013.. Whats going on at the museum? Well 3 passenger cars are leaving on lease to a scenic railroad. 3 Passenger cars are “coming home” from being stored at other locations. Norfolk Southern RR donated a GE manufacture Dash 8 locomotive to the museum. In preparation for the Dash 8 locomotive the Amtrak passenger car was moved around.
Since the track in front of the station was clear, we had a chance to move the Whitcomb around. Mark and Ray removed the chocks and I ran the loco up to the driveway. Mark has that video.
Here is the GE 25 ton moving the Amtrak coach.

Tuesday May 1st I charged up the battery in the Whitcomb. CSX had some ballast equipment on the siding. I am working on the Museum’s A6 speeder replacing the plywood on the cars end platforms.
The Whitcomb has several small problems that I have not resolved yet. The front of the locomotive seems to slope down for some reason or it’s the section of track that it is on. The clutch does not fully disengage causing the gears to grind when putting in gear and after it runs down the track and back it seems starved for gas.
